Dear Church of the Open Door Family,

As we head into this year’s WorldReach week, we’re excited to have the following seven Church of the Open Door (COD) missionaries here with us: Andy & Margaret Andersen, Jose & Janeen Gutierrez, Zoe Longsine and Ed & Judy Underwood. 

They are part of a long legacy of missionaries here at COD. (Fun fact—COD sent out our first seven missionaries in 1916, just one year after the church began!)

The schedule for the week is listed below, and I encourage you to look it over. Consider taking a step to learn more about why this year’s WorldReach theme verse—”even so I am sending you”—is on our hearts!

One easy step is to stop by the MISSIONS FAIR on the front patio on Sunday, August 16. Spend a few minutes. Say hello to a missionary or two. Our missionaries will be there ready to greet you, with displays that give you glimpses into their ministries and relationships, and even some international snacks. :)

However you’re able to engage, I think you’ll be glad you did!

P.S. This year’s WorldReach offering will be used to give a special gift to Church of the Open Door missionary Angela Shih. Angela just moved to Bangkok, where she is serving as an elementary school counselor at a Christian school. This offering will help her with relocation expenses and assist with some unexpected medical bills.
