Since 1915, Church of the Open Door (COD) has been home to tremendous vision through a community of faith. For 70 year, we were located in downtown Los Angeles, often identified by the “Jesus Saves” signs visible from the surrounding freeways. Through pastoral changes, campus change and world culture changes, our goal has remained the same: to share the good news of the Gospel and make disciples to Jesus Christ both here and around the world.

WHY GIFT PLANNING?

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth…but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt. 6:19-21).

When it comes to our financial resources, God desires our hearts. He invites us to give cheerfully, not reluctantly or under compulsion (2 Cor. 9:7). Sacrificial giving is an opportunity to invest in His kingdom (Matt. 6:19-21), experience joyful and intimate worship (Phil. 4:17-18), and to receive His blessing as “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” (2 Cor. 9:8).
