In the midst of this emotional year, we have been holding on to our faithful God!

We have been praying!

We have been praying for you. We have been praying for our first responders, our healthcare professionals, our essential workers, our educators and students, our grandparents, parents and kids, our missionaries, our ministries, our country.

We have loved hearing how the Lord is at work among you:

It was such a nice surprise to receive the prayer book with cookies. It touched my heart! We are seeing God’s direction for our prayer request, too. It’s unfolding day by day. Thank you for praying! – a COD couple sheltering at home

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to the lady who dropped off the lovely care package to my dad and me. The timing couldn’t have been better. I had just made a difficult decision . . . The care package came at such a blessed time for us to remember that God is with me and my family, and how important the church family is, especially during these difficult times. Words cannot express how thankful I am right now! – a COD young adult

The Lord is with us and He hears our prayers!

And we have continued to bring our 2020 Breakthrough Prayer Requests before the Lord.

The second of those three prayer requests is this – Father, please retire the Worship Center mortgage by 2025.

Though this request hasn’t been in the spotlight much this year, we want you to know how the Lord is moving, and invite you to be part of it.

Three years ago, the faithful ladies in our Women of Grace class were praying with us that God would retire our Worship Center mortgage. They were led to take action on this request – they held an incredibly delicious bake sale one Sunday morning in the summer of 2017. The proceeds went directly to reduce the principal of our loan.

In early 2018 a generous family was moved by watching the faithfulness of these women and their delicious bake sales. In response, this family offered us a matching gift for that year . . . and the year after. Every gift given towards the principal of our Worship Center loan was matched up to the goal.

We named this The Principal Project.

Friends, our generous family has pledged ANOTHER matching gift of $200,000 this year to help retire the mortgage on our Worship Center!

This means that every dollar up to $200,000 given to The Principal Project this year will be doubled!

This is amazing news and we would love for you to prayerfully consider this opportunity to partner with us.

Currently nearly $100,000 has been already given towards the principal of our loan in 2020. I am asking you to pray about being a part of the remaining $100,000 needed to reach our goal of $200,000 this year.

Your gift of any amount will make an impact!

We are thankful for your above and beyond giving to pay down this mortgage! This is an against all odds kind of prayer request and yet we see God delivering every step of the way.

This work of paying off our debt will result in increased resources to continue making a difference in lives and to move ministry forward.

  • We are eager to partner with God as He continues to identify people from our own church family that He is sending out to make disciples of the nations.
  • We are thrilled at the opportunities God is giving us to equip the next generation of servant leaders from our children and youth ministry.
  • We are encouraged as God moves our campus from survival to fruitful significance as so much of our campus is being used to disciple others.

We know these gifts are not easy for anyone. As your shepherds, we are trusting with you that “our God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Phil. 4:19-20)

Thank you for your partnership and prayers in this work of making disciples both here and around the world!

Much love,

Pastor David Anderson

Lead Pastor

P.S. You can also contribute to this goal at the next Principal Project Bake Sale! It’s happening in a COVID-19 friendly way on Sunday morning, October 18, on the front patio of the Worship Center. Mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy some delicious baked goods and pay down the mortgage at the same time!
