Once again we had a good turn out for the 2017 COD Open Golf Tournament at Azusa Greens on Saturday, October 14, 2017.  We had a total of 26 people play, which included people from COD, friends, neighbors, & families.

It was great again to see people meet, fellowship, & have fun with people they knew or met for the first time, either from COD or with friends/neighbors/guests. I especially loved seeing our young folks come out and enjoy the time out there with their dads (like Alina & Izaiah with their dad Matthew, Isaac with his dad Deric, & of course my wonderful daughter Christianna who always delights me even just with her smile).

We started the day with sign-ins, goody bags, & a nail biter of a putting contest, made the turn with hot dogs, chips, drinks, & got together after the round for popcorn, pretzels, drinks & awards/prizes.
The 1st place team was the team of Dan Gordon, Alan Muller, Greg Demonteverde, Kurt Richter, and Brian Booth.
Second place went to the team of Matthew Barela, Alina Barela, Izaiah Barela, Christianna Ayvazian, & Harout Ayvazian.
The team needing most encouragement was the team of Deric Shires, Isaac Shires, Brandon Joens, & Manny Ortiz.
Individual prizes went to Kurt Richter (Putting Contest Winner, who won in a nail biter playoff over David’s neighbor Leonard), Phil Stephanik (Closest to the Pin #3), Greg DeMonteverde (Closest to the Pin #6), Dan Mellon (Closest to the Pin #9),  Ed Lee (Closest to the Pin #13), Kevin Paulus (Straightest Drive #18), & Harout Ayvazian (Longest Drive #5, thanks to the cart path assist ;-).
We also gave away a bunch of raffle prizes, which included baseball hats, Starbucks/Cold Stone/Boston Market gift cards, golf balls, & the grand prize for a round of golf for four (won by Dan Mellon).

Thank you & God bless!
