Men’s Ministry

Rob Langley. Men’s Ministry Coordinator | mensministry@churchoftheopendoor.com

The Men’s Ministry’s goal is to encourage and equip men in Christ through prayer, discipleship, fellowship and practical service.
Men who model Christ, build into each other’s lives, and serve their community –these are the kind of men that we’re actively trying
to promote and equip at COD!

2016 Campout

Recap:
On June 3-4, Men’s Ministry hosted a camp out event for Dads and Kids on the COD campus. We had 30 families represented, including 68 kids! We swam, and ate, and played catch, soccer and basketball, and ate some more, and even went down a giant slip & slide before eating again, and just had an all-around great time!  Thanks to our chefs for the weekend, Harout Ayvazian and Paul Menetrey, and for all the dads who jumped in to help cook, serve, and clean.

2016 Golf Tournament

Recap:
The COD Men’s Ministry held the 2016 Golf Scramble Tournament at Azusa Greens Country Club on Saturday, August 6, 2016.

Thirty three men, women and children, consisting of family members, neighbors, friends and acquaintances, all enjoyed a fun-filled time of fellowship together playing golf.

First place went to the team of Brandon Joens, John Gregorich, Greg Demonteverde and Bill Consolo. There were also individual competition awards and raffle prizes, which enabled some serious golfers and some not-so-serious golfers to take home a prize. A special acknowledgement to Jeff Taylor for all the boxes of golf balls and hats that he donated as prizes.

It was great to see how God used this golf event not only for fun and fellowship, but for us to share His love and grace to each other and to those in our community.
