Tecate 2018

Thanks for praying for our Tecate Team! David Newkirk and over 30 young people recently returned from a powerful week of ministry in Mexico with our sister church, Casa de Dios

The days were spent sharing God’s Word, having a ton of fun with about 65 kids each day at Vacation Bible School, enjoying times of rich worship and fellowship with a committed congregation, and getting into the Word.

Below are some thoughts from the team:

Tecate is always a trip I look forward to. This year, however, was more impactful for me personally, on a level of connection, not only with my friends and the children, but also with God. I think it’s amazing how much grace and love there is on this trip and with my church. I am the happiest I can be when I have my church by my side and the children of tecate to love on and serve. Tecate 2018❤. – Tawnya Gonzales

Tecate missions trip 2k18. Such a great experience to be able to go to Mexico and show God’s love to kids. Much love to everyone I got to serve with! – Kevin Folbrecht

This week was one of the best weeks of my life! Fifteen kids came to Christ in four days! I got to share my heart and on top of all that I got to meet the brothers in Christ and connect with them without speaking a lick of Spanish. I’m so grateful for this experience and for meeting all these wonderful kids who changed my heart for good and who made my relationship with the Lord stronger. I couldn’t have asked for a better week. Blessed to be a Christian and blessed to have the Lord bless me and my brothers and sisters in Christ – Zion Longsine

Tecate, Mexico. Every year this missions trip shows me something new—something new about myself, others, and Jesus. it would take years to describe the greatness of this trip. My heart is completely full because of you, Tecate. – Madi Vincent

Casa de Díos will always have a piece of my heart! This past week was spent growing new friendships, deepening old friendships, diving into God’s Word, and sharing the gospel! Although trying to articulate the gospel in another language isn’t the easiest, speaking in the language of love through Jesus Christ was effortless thanks to the immeasurable power that God provides for us. More than 15 kids came to Christ this past week and my heart cannot be filled with more joy. In Tecate I fell in love with all of these kids and more in love with Jesus! Canta aleluya, Cristo vive! – Mc Kayla Tilton

My heart is so full, it just might burst! I got to spend a week with the most dear people who have mad e a huge impact on my life. It was such a blessing to rekindle connections and deep friendships down in Tecate, Mexico. Our prayers were answered and the Spirit worked mightily in the hearts of all of us. More than 15 kids proclaimed their new found faith in Jesus and I could not be more proud of the team that sacrificed comfort and allowed the Lord to work through them this week. I wouldn’t trade my experience with any of these faces for the world. – Kristina Newkirk, leader

Missionary Care Trips

Minister to our COD missionaries as they gather at their organizational missionary conferences. We have been invited multiple times to provide services like Bible teaching, worship leading and children’s programs (Vacation Bible School) at these conferences in places where our missionaries serve (such as Kenya, Tanzania and Vietnam).
